The Vida Bela Method

Home » About » The Vida Bela Method

Surgery corrects structure. Lasers rebuild the skin itself. Injectables restore the volume you’ve lost.

One surgeon and one laser specialist design all three as a single plan for your face and body — in a specific order, skin first — so you look like yourself at a younger age, and so surgery is put off for as long as skin and regenerative treatments can do the job.

If you don’t need one of the three, we’ll say so.

Three pillars. One plan.

A face doesn’t age in one layer. Three things happen at once, and each needs a different tool.

Dr. Chelsea Snider in the private surgical suite at Vida Bela Plastic Surgery.

Surgery

Structure

What changes: Fat pads descend, muscle changes, bone remodels, and skin that has stretched stays stretched. No laser lifts a jowl that has fallen. No injectable removes loose skin.

Corrects: The position of tissue and the excess of it. Facelift and neck lift, blepharoplasty, tummy tuck, breast lift, liposuction and body contouring — and the reconstructive work Dr. Snider also performs.

Cannot do: Change the quality of the skin it lifts. A facelift on thin, sun-damaged skin has to be pulled tighter, and doesn’t hold.

Performed by: Dr. Chelsea Snider, MD, board-certified plastic surgeon, in our private surgical suite with on-site PACU.

Hands off to: Lasers before surgery to prepare the skin and after surgery to treat scars; injectables and fat grafting for volume a lift can’t restore.

Lasers and energy-based devices

The skin itself

What changes: Around 30, the skin’s own collagen and elastin production slows sharply, and years of sun exposure damage the DNA that new skin cells are built from. Pigment, texture, and laxity in the skin’s own architecture. Surgery doesn’t fix that. Neither do injectables.

Corrects: Pigment, texture, lines, scars, and laxity in the skin’s own architecture. Rebuilds the collagen and elastin the skin stopped producing. Tightens deeply — eyelids, neck, body — in ways surgery cannot. Treats several concerns in one visit, with one recovery.

Cannot do: Move tissue that has fallen, or remove skin that has stretched past recovery.

Performed by: Paul Kraft, CLT, LSO, and the laser providers he trains — using protocols manufacturers use to train the surgeons and dermatologists who purchase their devices.

Hands off to: Surgery, when laxity has passed what energy can correct; injectables, for volume and muscle.

Injectables and regenerative treatments at Vida Bela Plastic Surgery.

Volume and movement

What changes: The cheeks and temples hollow, the under-eyes deepen, and muscles that never stop pulling etch lines into the skin.

Corrects: Overactive muscle (neuromodulators), lost volume (fillers and fat grafting), and collagen depletion in the face and body (biostimulators such as Sculptra, plus PDGF).

Cannot do: Lift what has fallen, resurface skin, or correct pigment.

Performed by: Fat grafting is performed surgically by Dr. Snider.

Hands off to: Lasers, when skin quality limits the result; surgery, when volume alone can’t restore the contour.

Treated one at a time, each fixes one layer. Treated as one plan, they build on each other. Most patients need two of the three; some need all three, staged over years. If you don’t need one of them, we’ll say so.

One team. One plan.

Your surgeon and your laser specialist design your protocol together, before treatment starts. You meet one team and leave with one plan — surgery, lasers, and injectables sequenced against each other, not booked separately.

The plan is built to put off surgery for as long as skin and regenerative treatments can do the job. Dr. Snider built the Laser Center inside her surgical practice for exactly that reason.

The standard for every result — surgical or non-surgical — is the same: you should look like yourself at a younger age, not like someone different.

Skin first. Then everything else holds.

The order isn’t arbitrary.

A facelift on skin that has never been treated starts with thin, inelastic tissue, so it has to be pulled tighter to get a result. It can look over-pulled from the start — and because the skin itself was never addressed, the result doesn’t hold.

Run it in order and the opposite happens. Restore the skin’s function first. Rebuild collagen and elastin, correct pigment and texture, tighten what energy can tighten. Most patients add years this way before surgery is necessary at all. And when surgery does come, the surgeon is working with skin that holds a natural result.

That is why facial surgery patients here are assessed for skin work before and after surgery. And why the answer to “am I ready for a facelift?” is sometimes “not yet — and here’s what to do first.”

The reverse is also true. When structure is the problem, surgery is the answer, and we say so.

What a combined plan looks like

Every plan is designed for one patient. These are the shapes plans commonly take.

Quarterly laser skin maintenance at Vida Bela Laser Center.

The 45-year-old who isn’t ready for surgery — and may not need it for years.

Quarterly Regenerative Maintenance to stimulate collagen and elastin. Neuromodulators for the muscles that etch lines. A biostimulator for early volume loss. Reassessed every year. Surgery deferred, on purpose.

How a plan is built: Map. Reset. Build.

Map

A 45-minute consultation built on real anatomy — how skin ages, and how the fat, muscle, and bone beneath it change. You see before-and-afters of our own patients your age. You leave with three treatment paths and a price range for each — not a single quote, and no quote at all until we’ve seen your skin.

For a surgical patient, this is also where recovery, timing, and financing get worked out.

Reset

Before anything is corrected, skin function is restored. For most patients, that means Regenerative Maintenance — one hour, no downtime, visible the same day. For a surgical patient, it’s preparation and timing: the skin is readied for the result it needs to hold.

Build

Resurfacing, tightening, injectables, and — when and only when it’s the right call — surgery, layered onto skin that is responding. Each step builds on the last.

Same three words for every patient. Same promise.

The Vida Bela Promise

Six agreements. Each one answers a specific fear.

  1. You will look like yourself. Our goal is your face at a younger age — not a different face. You will not leave here looking done.

  2. We will try to delay your surgery. If skin and regenerative treatments can achieve your goal, that is what we’ll recommend — even though surgery is the larger procedure.

  3. One plan, one team. Your surgeon and your laser specialist design your protocol together, before treatment starts.

  4. You will see real results before you decide. Actual patients, your age, our work.

  5. You will know the range before you commit. Every consultation ends with options and honest pricing.

  6. You will have access. Direct access to your surgeon throughout your recovery.

Regenerative Maintenance with tightening or a nano-CO₂ treatment layered in.

Modified Trifecta

Several concerns in one visit, with lighter downtime.

A regenerative add-on for faster healing and rejuvenation, available with any treatment.

FAQs

The Vida Bela Method FAQs

The Vida Bela Method is the way Vida Bela Plastic Surgery plans treatment: surgery, lasers and energy-based devices, and injectables are designed together as a single protocol by a board-certified plastic surgeon and a laser specialist, in a specific order — skin first — with the goal of delaying surgery for as long as skin and regenerative treatments can do the job. Each modality corrects what the others can’t: surgery for structure, lasers for the skin itself, injectables for volume and muscle.

Yes. The Vida Bela Method is the name we now use for the three-pillar approach previously described on this site as the Triad Approach — the same three modalities, the same team, and the same principle that combining them produces results no single treatment can.

Usually not at once. Most patients need two of the three; some need all three, staged over years. The consultation tells you which — and if you don’t need one of them, we’ll say so.

Skin, almost always. Restoring skin quality before surgery lets the surgeon work with tissue that holds a natural result and often delays surgery by years. Injectables are usually layered alongside laser work; surgery comes when — and only when — structure has changed in ways energy and volume can’t correct.
